General Notes:
Scheduling:
To secure a service date please send an email to info@PerformanceOriented.com after which you will receive your Customer Service Number. Approximately two weeks prior to your service date Performance Oriented will contact you so you may ship your Webers.
Customer to supply:
Carburetors as depicted in the photo above.
Customer to retain:
Air cleaners and associated components
Intake air horns
If 40IDS3C Webers as used on the 1967 and 1968 911S then include intake air horns to protect the High Speed Enrichment Tubes that are unique to these carburetors.
Intake manifolds
Throttle linkage components
Customer is responsible for performing final adjustments to tailor the tuning of their carburetors to their engine.
It is assumed the supplied carburetors are serviceable units removed from a running engine. Units with missing components, seized throttle shafts, broken jet holders or that are corroded and/or dirty will incur cost adders to return them to service.
Packaging and Shipping:
Recommended packaging procedure:
Wrap each carburetor with bubble wrap.
Remove mixture screws and place them into one of the throttle bores. Arrange carburetors to face each other with the accelerator pumps to the outside of the arrangement. Invert one carburetor relative to the other (one is upside-down) and stagger the carbs so the middle bores are not in alignment with each other: in other words, offset one carb relative to the other.
Firmly tape the two carburetors together creating a single bundle.
Place this bundle into a larger box filled on all sides with packaging “peanuts” or other suitable packing material. A convenient size box is 15” x 15” x 12” which is easily constructed from a 15” x 15” x 15” box.
Have Performance Oriented sign for the shipment at time of delivery.
Performance Oriented prefers FedEx as the shipper.
